We're two young entrepreneurs on a mission to fight food waste by educating people on how to grow vegetables indoors. By doing so we can reduce the amount of fresh food is being thrown away on daily basis and as well improve our health! The best part, it's fun to do it. 

 

Did you know that?

  1. An estimated 17 per cent of total food available to consumers (931 million metric tons) is wasted at household, food service and retail levels.
  2. 33% of food produced globally is never eaten and is lost in supply chain steps such as storage, transport, possessing and retail stores.
  3. Food that ends up in landfills generates 8 - 10% of global greenhouse gas emission.
  4. Food loss and waste claims 20% of freshwater consumption and uses 30% of the worlds agricultural land area.

 

Our "Big hairy and audacious goal" is "to generate zero food waste through people ability to grow themselves and re-distribute food surplus". We want to create and ability for people to grow their own food by providing food the tools, knowledge they need do it affordably.

Currently, 39% of food waste happen at the producers. So everyone can become a producer and change that!
